Tona Tank Cream Dial Small Seconds - 1950s N.O.S.

A magnificent example from the Tona manufacture, whose designs remained highly confidential.
Very few examples are still in circulation today.

The manufacture was founded by Tona (Toni) Cavelti, a craftsman and designer, with a simple yet complex idea for the time: to create a true measuring instrument, beyond the wristwatch associated with a form of fashion.

The manufacture was established in the Jura Arc region.
Tona wanted to stand out from the "case fitters" and thus design the cases and dials themselves.
The assembly was intended to be artisanal.

Known for their robustness, watches from the Tona manufacture were often assembled and mounted by a single watchmaker from start to finish.

Here we have an example dating from the 1950s, in NOS (New Old Stock) condition.
This example was part of a watch stock, some other examples of which were intended for German forces.
They were never worn or distributed.

Due to its age, the watch still shows tiny micro-defects caused by its transport and storage for nearly 100 years.

Only the strap has been changed.

Mechanical movement, manual winding.
Movement revised, optimal deviations and amplitudes.

Case dimensions: 24mm (with crown) / 37mm (lug to lug)

Cream-silver dial, magnificent depending on the lighting.
Blued cathedral-style hands, slight patina.
Small seconds at 6 o'clock.
Arabic numeral indices, pastel mint shade.
Internal minute track.

New brown cowhide leather lamella strap.
Steel pin buckle.

An extremely rare example, especially in this state of preservation.
