Luxor Type Tank Bauhaus Grey Dial - Small Second 1950s
A magnificent example from the Swiss manufacturer Luxor, dating from approximately 1950, embodying the codes of the Bauhaus style with a refined, geometric, yet very balanced minimalism.
The Luxor manufacture was founded in 1935 by Jean-Hermann Brunner in Le Locle.
There was a great duality within the Luxor house, whose designs focused on the production of officer's desk clocks, wristwatches, and also high-end table clocks.
In 1987, Luxor merged with Zenith following the quartz crisis.
Today, the old workshops have been transformed into an artists' residence called Luxor Factory, preserving the brand's history in these premises.
We are looking at an example from the 1950s, in N.O.S. condition. This example was part of a watchmaking stock, some other pieces of which were intended for German forces. They have never been worn or distributed.
Only the strap has been changed.
