Laco Tank Art Deco - WWII N.O.S 1940s
A magnificent example from the German manufacturer Laco, dating from the 1930s-1940s.
Founded in 1925 in Pforzheim by Frieda Lacher and Ludwig Hummel, Laco initially specialized in manufacturing dials before producing its own precision movements from 1933 onwards.
The brand gained historical renown during World War II by becoming one of the five official suppliers of observation watches (Fliegeruhren) for the German air force.
Along with Stowa, IWC, Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, and Wempe in Hamburg.
We are looking at a N.O.S. model.
It has never been worn or distributed. It was part of a watchmaker's stock, some of which was intended for German forces.
A watch whose age, however, results in tiny micro-defects due to its transport and storage for nearly 100 years.
