Arsa - Calatrava Military WWII N.O.S Type (Auguste Reymond)
Exceptional example from the ARSA (Auguste Reymond SA) manufacture, dating from the 1930s-1940s.
In 1918, the company became a SA (limited company) and was renamed Manufacture d’horlogerie A. Reymond SA. Auguste Reymond was the chairman of the board of directors.
In 1921, A. Reymond SA registered the brands ARSA and SILVANA.
The Auguste Reymond SA manufacture then offered 3 different ranges distributed across their various brands:
- "Silvana" would focus on the economy watch range.
- "Speranza" would represent the mid-range.
- "Arsa" would represent the high-end of the manufacture.
We have here an example dating from the 30s-40s, in N.O.S. condition.
This example was part of a watchmaker's stock, some other examples of which were intended for German forces. They were never worn or distributed.
Despite its age, the watch shows tiny micro-defects due to its transport and storage for nearly 100 years.
