Baume & Mercier Calatrava Bauhaus - Oversize Case 1950s N.O.S
Beautiful example from the Swiss manufacturer Baume & Mercier dating from the 1950s.
Approximate production date: 1954.
The model presented is in N.O.S. condition, never worn, and still has its original label and original case back protector.
This example is an integral part of Bauhaus-inspired designs, combining refinement and clean lines characteristic of the era's design within the Baume & Mercier house.
This example belongs to a period when standards tended towards smaller case sizes. Baume & Mercier then offered a "Large Case" type case, breaking with the typical wristwatches of the 1930s-40s.
We are in the presence of an N.O.S. model; its age still results in tiny flaws due to its transport over the years, but it remains in an almost impeccable condition. An extremely rare model, even more so in this condition. Not polished, entirely original, original label still present. Original protection still present on the case back.
Mechanical hand-wound movement: ETA 096
Movement revised, optimal deviations and amplitudes.
Case dimensions: 36mm (excluding crown) / 37.5mm (with crown)
